I had some different colour cottons left over and wanted to use them up on something small, so came up with the flower face scrubbies crochet pattern. I made some in single colour, but also combines colours into one to make the flower stand out. I love the Paintbox Cotton DK because of all the colours it comes in, you can get yours at LoveCrafts.com worldwide!
Face Scrubbies Crochet Pattern
You will need:
Paintbox DK, or any DK cotton
4.0mm hook
Scissors and needle for finishing
Pattern is in US terms. Puff stitch description as follows:
- Yarn over and pull up a loop
- Repeat 3 more times
- Yarn over and pull through all 9 loops on the hook
- CH1 to close the stitch
Row 1 – CH4, SS into 1st chain to form a loop
Row 2 – CH2, work 6 DC into the centre of the loop formed in Row 1. SS into the first DC (6)
Row 3 – *CH3, work a puff stitch into the same stitch. CH2, SS into the next stitch.* Repeat * around. Finish with a puff stitch flower of 6 petals.
Row 4 – *Work 2DC in the space between the CH3 and the puff, 2HDC in the CH1 closing the puff. 2DC in the space between the puff and the CH2.* Repeat * around, SS into the 1st DC. (36)
Row 5 – CH2. Work 2DC in the same space. DC in the next 2. *2DC, DC, DC* Repeat * around. SS into the 1st DC. (49)
Row 6 – CH1. Work 1 front post single crochet / FPSC in each stitch around. SS to close and finish off ends.
