‘In the Clouds’ is a patterned cloud baby crochet sweater pattern and my new favourite baby jumper. It comes with very simple construction perfect for beginners to baby clothes, and perfect for a gender neutral gift for a baby boy or girl. A simple, classic and fuss free design to go with all teeny tiny baby outfits.
An easy, crochet baby sweater this pattern uses colour changes for the cloud design and single crochet stitches throughout. The flat panels make it easy for a beginner to crochet garments, or those new to colour work.
In sizes 0-24 months you can make one from baby to toddler size, choosing from:

Cloud Baby Crochet Sweater Pattern
What you need to crochet a baby sweater
- DK acrylic (<150g or <509 yds)
- 4.5mm
- Scissors and needle for finishing
I used Paintbox Yarns Baby DK in Vanilla Cream and White, though any DK acrylic or soft cotton would be great. A tester even made one in aran/worsted yarn after meeting gauge and it looks beautiful if you have some aran you’re dying to use (though it was a little thick).
Gauge
In 4×4″: 20 rows of 18 sc
Concentration Level
Beginner friendly with some close counting needed for the colour changes, but very simple otherwise.
