This raffia crochet coaster pattern is super quick and easy, and a perfect way to add a handmade touch to your home decor. I think raffia makes your work look leveled up, and more handmade than homemade!

The size of this pattern makes it super versatile, from mug coasters to plant mats. I’m thinking of making these bigger too to use as crochet table place mats. For now, my dog is acting up like a naughty teenager so mine will be sitting firmly under my plant babies where he can’t take a shine to them!

Raffia Crochet Coaster Pattern
Row 1: ch18, dc in 3rd ch from hook and each ch to the end, turn (Photo 1)

Row 3: ch 1, make an oversized sc (Photo 2) in between each dc from Row 1, by working over and underneath each sc from Row 2, pulling the loop up tall. Turn
Row 4: ch2, dc in each st from Row 3 to the end, turn
Repeat (Rows 2 to 4) 3 more times, until you have what looks like 9 rows in total (with your standard sc rows effectively hidden).
